Finedon Emergency Plan – An initial meeting has been arranged on Wednesday, 12th September 2018 in the Town Hall at 7.00pm. Please come along if you feel you can offer any assistance. The more volunteers we have the more effective our plan will be in an emergency.
Trees Banks Park Tree Replacement Scheme
The tree replacement scheme has been agreed by Council, and there are spaces in Banks Park for 9 replacement trees.
5 along Wellingborough Road
2 along the A6
2 to fill in the gaps along the High Street
It will cost £200 per tree, payable to the Parish Council, which will be 2-3m in height with trunks 8-12 cm as per list arranged by Hillside Nurseries who will be supplying the trees. Please contact the Clerk for the list or if you have a specific tree in mind. The cost includes planting but the Council are insisting that the purchaser tends their tree in the first year to ensure it thrives. This summer’s hot weather has highlighted the necessity of this stipulation. Within this cost is also the production of the information board which will detail the trees and any further information that the purchaser wishes to add, within reason, of course.
The trees will be allocated on a first come first served basis as there are only 9 spaces available.
The Police have started to see an increase in reports of suspicious activity and rural crimes – such as vehicles/people on private land, hare-coursing and attempt break in’s to rural buildings. Joint police operations are on-going to target the offenders, who more often than not work over a large geographical area covering many counties.
It is important that any incident details are shared not only with neighbours and communities but with the Police and NHW as well, so that the message can get around as quickly as possible. Attached is an easy Incident Report Card that can be used to help ensure as many details are recorded as possible. Any details such as vehicle make, number plate, description, location, are all useful.
So please always report any suspicious activity to Police on 101 or 999 in an emergency.
Report highway faults such as potholes, winter maintenance issues, traffic signal problems, blocked drains etc 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our online street doctor takes you through just 5 simple steps to report the fault and you will then receive regular updates.
Reporting Parking & Anti-Social Behaviour Incidents
If you see any anti-social behaviour or unusual behaviour which isn’t an emergency use the police 101 number to report it. If the incident is logged then our PCSO Rachel Head (07557 778144) can follow up the crime number. Obstructive parking is also a problem in Finedon so please report it to the Police as and when it occurs. This way the Police can build up a picture of the problem and bring it to the fore. Just remember, if it is not notified then the Police are unaware of the problem. The 101 number should be used if the incident is not an emergency. Remember if there is a crime being committed or it is an emergency call 999.
